260 day work year with paid vacatiob time, sick time, holidays and personal days.            

 

BASE SALARY         

$18.13-21.67 with medical, dental and life insurance *salary adjusted up with the conclusion of negotiations

TITLE:             Business Office Technician

 

JOB TYPE:                 This is a classified position

 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Superintendent and Business Manager

 

ASSIGNMENT: To perform accounting and personnel duties for the Business Offices. 

 

DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  1. Support the Business Office Manager and Business Accountant with duties performed in the Business Office related to accounts payable, payroll and financial accounting functions;
  2. Perform reporting, purchasing and personnel duties;
  3. Provide backup to the Business  Manager and Business Accountant in their absence;
  4. Support the Business Accountant with the preparation of charter school annual budgets and monthly financial projections;
  5. Support the Business Office Manager with the preparation of annual personnel budgeting;
  6. Assist employees with business and personnel related issues at the direction of the Business Manager;
  7. Maintain accurate accounting records essential for auditing including monthly and quarterly account reconciliations;
  8. Deposit school district and charter school receipts in banks designated by the school boards; and,
  9. Other duties as may be assigned by the administration.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent job experience

 

ABILITY TO:

  1. Quickly acquire a working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
  2. Plan, organize, prioritize and complete a high volume of work in a calm, timely and efficient manner
  3. Analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action
  4. Interpret and apply department policies and procedures
  5. Desire to increase skills and experience through professional development training as required by the District
  6. Perform complex reconciliation processes
  7. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to staff and community
  8. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  9. Work flexible hours, attending early morning or evening meetings when needed
  10. Be assigned complex additional duties and assignments as needed
  11. Perform functions requiring independent judgment, decision making and problem solving
  12. Research information and compose memos, letters and other correspondence in a professional manner

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands and the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the current collective bargaining contract.

 

Salary will be determined by terms of the current negotiated salary schedule. The amount due under the contract will be pro-rated monthly in accordance with district policy.
