THE POSITION
The Drama Director teaches, directs, and advises students who desire extracurricular experience in the production and performance of the dramatic arts.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform a Minimum two (2) productions per year.

Establishes and calendars performance dates.

Selects productions which are appropriate to school/community standards in cooperation with the school administration.

Teaches the skills necessary to participate in productions.

Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and District in organizing and supervising tryouts and rehearsals.

Establishes and communicates expectations to participants.

Coordinates production auxiliary personnel which could include costuming, music, and choreography.

Organizes and provides information to media, students, patrons, and audience.

Establishes production budgets and provides direction for fund raising as appropriate.

Insures that equipment and materials are properly used, maintained, and stored, and that inventory records are accurate and current.

Provides leadership and direction to the technical aspects of production.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 18 years of age

- Punctual
- Supportive of district programs
- Good attendance
CONDITIONS:
Extra-duty contract period is annual.
The person assigned to this duty must possess appropriate training and background.
Performance of assigned extra-curricular duties will be included in the evaluation process.
SALARY:
The extra-duty contract pay will be determined by the annual budgeted amount.
The amount due under the contract will be pro-rated monthly in accordance with district policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands and the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
